There is nothing better than an ice water bathingafter an intense workout routine. According to Medical Magazines, to put yourself into a cold water bath will release tensions on your muscles and will leave you with a feeling of relaxed. Experts say it is, actually, is much better to have an ice bath is better than applying compression stockings and it is equal to stretching. Elite athletes know about this fact and ice cold water is part of their workout habits. 

The thing with cold baths is that it induces relaxation. That’s why it is better than doing nothing after a workout. It reduces muscle pain by about 20% due to the passive rest it induces after working out. There are no difference between stretching and having a cold bath, doctors claim and, in fact, is much better than just taking a couple of ibuprofens. 
The thing with muscle soreness is that, sometimes, it appears within the next 24 to 48 hours after the workout. So, people may think it is not gonna hurt but, it will. Cold immersion baths help athletes relieve the pain and relax the body. Even though it may seem like a torture it is actually very enjoyable when your body temperature is high.
